Homebrew, PKHeX and Distro Thread
[Image: ppPTR9H.png]

This method does NOT work on 11.4, if you wish to use e-Shop then you can use ctr_httpwn to connect to the Internet in the meantime.

The Homebrew Launcher is currently available on firmware 9.0 through 11.3.x.x and any region, with this you'll be able to inject Pokemon from various shops that have this feature set up, able to PKHeX on your own, or even have peace of mind with backing up your saves. This also allows you to have multiple save states with one cart.

This in no way can harm your 3DS if you follow this guide, it will not brick it or harm it in any way possible. It's also easy to remove, that'll be discussed at the end.

What you need to download.

1. The Homebrew Starter kit, this'll download automatically.

2. The Soundhax file for your 3DS region and device

3. The otherapp payload for your region and device.

4. JK's Save Manager, this'll download automatically.

5. PKHeX, your save editor and Pokemon generator, this'll download automatically.

To find your 3DS Firmware, go into settings and it should be located on the bottom right hand side of the top screen.

Power off your device and remove your SD card

Insert your SD card into your computer

Copy the contents of the starter folder inside the starter.zip to the root of your SD card

Copy the Soundhax .m4a to the root of your SD card

Copy the otherapp payload to the root of your SD card and rename it to otherapp.bin

Open the JKSM Zip that you downloaded and inside should be a file names 3DS, open it and copy the folder to the /3ds/ folder that's on your SD Card now.

Reinsert your SD card into your device

Power on your device

Launch Nintendo 3DS Sound

Go through all of the bird tips, then close the app normally and relaunch it
Launching Soundhax immediately would cause these tips to appear on every launch of the Nintendo 3DS Sound until this is done

Go to /SDCARD, then play “<3 nedwill 2016"
This may take many tries
If it freezes, just force the console to power off by holding the power button, then try again from the previous step.

Congrats, you're in Homebrew.

Now scroll down until you see the JKSM app, if you are wanting to dump a game off a cartridge then it has to be inside the 3DS before selecting the app. If you're using digital then it'll appear in the list anyway. Use your D-Pad to move left or right until you see your Pokemon game and then select it with A. You'll boot into a menu that shows Cartridge and SD. If you're using a cart then you'll skip the second step and straight to the third step.

To use it with a cartridge then do the following.

Select Cartridge > Save Data Options > Export Save > New > Type in the name you want to remember this save by and select A to export your save.

For digital, do the following. The picture is relevant for both methods.

Select SD > Pokemon Moon Or Sun > Save Data Options > Export Save > New > Type in the name you want to remember this save by and select A to export your save.

Now power off your 3DS after it says the save was backed up.

Remove your SD card and insert it into your computer

Open your SD and go to the file named JKSV

Naviagte to the Saves Folder then to the Pokemon game you backed up.

Inside should be a folder named whatever you typed in on the export step. Open it and inside should be a "main" file which is your Pokemon save, back this up in a few locations for safe keeping.

Open the .zip that PKHeX downloaded and remove the PKHeX app and drop it somewhere you'll have access to.

Drag and drop this onto the PKHeX icon and it should open your save file.

Congrats, now you can access your save and inject Pokemon.

Now take the .PK7 or .PK6 file of the Pokemon you downloaded and drop it inside a slot where you want to place it on the left hand side.

In this picture I inserted a PK7 into Box 26, slot 1. You can also right click and select "view" to see any Pokemon's details you currently own. To clone, simply right click a slot you want to clone to and select "set".

Now select File > Export Sav... > Export Main and overwrite your old "main" file with the new one that has the Pokemon you injected. It has to be named "main" or else it'll corrupt your save.

Now eject your SD card safely, put it back in the 3DS and boot up until you get back into Homebrew and open JKSM. We are doing the same method as before, except instead of Export Save we will be doing Import Save. Select the save you want to use (the one you just put back onto your SD) and select A, then A again.

Now you're complete and have injected the Pokemon you want to use. Just follow is method in the future to inject any more or to edit your save. Editing your save can result in possible bans or game breaking glitches so it's recommended to stay with only injecting or creating parents within legal means.

Removing Homebrew

Homebrew is never "installed" inside your 3DS, it simply is accessible and can be removed any time.

To remove Homebrew in the off chance you are in satisfied, just remove everything BUT the folders named "DCIM" and "Nintendo 3DS" as these are essential to your 3DS and digital games.

Distribution

Both links are for Gen 7, everything can be downloaded and injected into either Sun or Moon.

Click here for the list of all my Pokemon with all relevant details.

And all my PK7's in one folder if you wish to download them in bulk.

Now that I have started up a small collection of various competitive shinies I TSV abused or RNGd for, and some other pokemon I have bred and trained throughout the last few months, I thought it'd be a good idea to put them up and distribute them out to the community. All of these pokemon are cloned, and are totally legit so no worries regarding their legality.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask here.

Just going to drop off my link to porybox here as well. Should be adding more pokemon to it at a later date.

This guide can be used to inject Pokemon from mine, Roxas', and Zangoose's distros. You can download my Pokemon from my Porybox here. Alternatively, if you would like all the Pokemon in the distro all in one go, you can download them from the sendspace link here.

RE: Homebrew, PKHeX and Distro Thread
I'd be interested in the shiny event genesect. I would try using homebrew, but I still got to get my PC set up. Can someone possibly inject it in their games and trade over to me? If not that's ok, I plan on getting homebrew soon for PKseeds. Finished reading up in RNG breeding so hopefully I might start a shop soon.

RE: Homebrew, PKHeX and Distro Thread
This thread is not for trading purposes, all three of us came to the conclusion to close the Ultima thread and mainly let people inject the Pokemon themselves. If we wanted to continue trading at this time then we would've remained open, the Genesect will still be there when you are able to Homebrew. If Zangoose or TPN feel like they want to help, then guess they can.

Edit: I'm not aware of TPN or Zangoose currently listing a Genesect, so I guess you mean mine? I just traded you THREE copies of it a few days ago, don't you still have them?

Edit 2: If you want Dar, feel free to edit your post in the future and list your Distro there so we have a string of distros on the front page.

I do recall we were not able to preform the trade. I can double check my copy of moon and alpha saphire to confirm.

Hm, those 5 Pokemon are missing from my order section and I remember trading them to you but if not then PM me to arrange a trade, this thread isn't meant for much besides FAQ of Homebrew or injecting so please don't reply further regarding the trade unless it's in regards to that.

RE: Homebrew, PKHeX and Distro Thread
Heads up, 11.4 is out and nulls this method. It's best to avoid upgrading if you want to continue using Homebrew and injecting, or you can inject and do everything you need to do and then update if you want to download an update or etc.

You can always use ctr_httpwn to use eShop while remaining on 11.3.

RE: Homebrew, PKHeX and Distro Thread
I was able to get homebrew earlier than expected. I couldn't find the shiny event genesect in the porky box give away section you have Roxas. I was wondering if you could send it to me instead of the trade seeing as it would be easier than having to set a time to trade it over. Thnx in advance.

RE: Homebrew, PKHeX and Distro Thread
Hi,

Yesterday I decided to play on my old 3DS for the first time since January. I foolishly updated it right away to version 11.4, without knowing Pkhex worked for Sun/Moon. Is there any way for me to use this, or possibly downgrade my 3DS to an earlier version?
Thanks~

Unfortunately no unless you already have CFW installed on it which I doubt is the case, so you'd have to wait till another exploit for 11.4 comes out within a few months.
