hey i was making a salamence and i was wondering what builds people think are the most effective

Salamence doesn't learn ice beam or thunder...
Whenever I use mence I ethier use Specs Mence or WishMence. SpecMence is good at crippling walls/taking out pokemon, and WishMece is just for a breath of fresh air ^_^

Dragon Dance, then sweep.
Salamence, paired with Dragon Dance, is a fearsome sweeper so I think this is the most effective set (In my opinion). And you can replace Fire Blast with Flamethrower if you prefer Accuracy to Power.

Salamence
Item: Life Orb
Nature: Naive or Timid
EVs: 126 HP, 65 Attack, 6 Defense, 187 Special Attack, 126 Speed
Moves: Dragon Dance, Draco Meteor, Outrage, Fire Blast
My own set, his performance is quite good, Timid is fine because you have Dragon Dance.

Actually Jolly is much better. Normally Salamence will be using Outrage to deal damage so decreasing its Attack is not a really good idea.
If your using a Salamence with mixed attacks, you should really be using a Naive nature, You dont want to be using jolly and lowering your special attack stat, as it will effect your fireblast damage.
And since Salamence has good Special Attack, Speed and Attack, why not use Timid Salamence...? Dragon Dance will make up for the lowered attack stat, and it'll make Salamence much faster.
Just an opinion though, since lowering the attack doesn't matter because of Dragon Dance.

It does matter, why would you want to hit for less damage? Naive > Timid, to say timid is ridiculous! You're using the attack stat!
But there's Dragon Dance, so I don't think why will that matter.
And I was just stating my opinion, that's the type of Salamence I use and he's doing perfect, and...sorry for my stupidity, I was just wondering why Naive Salamence would be better if you have Dragon Dance, and I also said that Naive would be good~
Navie is the best nature for mixed mence
328 speed is all you need to tear apart other teams
If you go with DD, then you might as well go Jolly or Adamant =P
