Arrgh been EV training Starmie forever....even pumped all the EVs out of defenses to maximize special attack but it's special attack at level 100 is still WAY out of the range of max sp attack at level 100 according to bulbapedia.

I mean, REALLY!

I've been EV training for like three days (properly, I'm not a noob) and Starmie's stats are not bad, but not in the right range.

I may have actually written them down wrong, as I was kind of in a hurry, checking EVs in between moves of a regular wifi battle of a challenger who hadn't consented to an EV check, which would make this post moot. But I still HATE EVs.

Any ideas on how to solve this horrible horrible problem?

Are the Ivs any good?

as Raizr said, it's most likely just got bad IVs.

If you know exactly how many EVs you've given it for each stat, we can work out the IVs if you give us the stats at level 100

It's okay, I'm not exactly sure what Starmie's EV is (it's between like 170 and 200) so the IV can't really be figured, but I'll get back to you once I max out the stat.

I'm not sure how I'm going to know the stat is maxed out, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Well, first off, is that starmie at 100 and your trying to EV train it? If so thats the problem. You cant re-assign EVs once they are 100.

If thats not the case, then as the others said its probably the IVs.

You can! You just have to deposit it in a PC box for the new EVs to kick in

Maybe your Starmie got a nature that reduces its Sp.Attack?
