Well see I can see my network and can see who is online but when trying to join a trade/battle it just says no deal after sitting there for a while it gives me an 86420 message I've vhecked with Nintendo they tell me to do the static IP thing bu ttheir directions are crap and I don't get it also they tell me to portfoward the IP I give it with also crap directions I dont know how to do either but some stats:
I have a Linksys wrt54g wireless router thats what I use to connect
if the DS matter its a DS Lite Crimson color I have already updated my firmware for the router though but no dice with that so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Have you entered the WEP key so you may access wi-fi? Sometimes it does it for that main reason.
I run an unsecured should I switch though
There is no real difference in running unsecure or secure. I always use secure, just because of free loaders and sometimes it does not work right.
Though, are you sure that the wireless router is compatible with Nintendo and if your settings on the DS are adjusted correctly?
Well I have only ever tried one trade several times though but the reason I do think they are compatible is that I can view the WFC and see ma friends well the only one I have right now since I just got this thing but I can see it when hes on so it seems compatible but idk past that point and the settings get further on auto then when I run it through the manual although im unsure how to port foward on my router
EDIT: hehe your sig says the twice in it like in a row I caught that cuz my friend used to make me read
a bird
in the
the bush
lol he didnt write lol though
Usually it automatically works after using the default settings, Even if you tinkered with it..It should work fine. Now I know it's not a nintendo issue nor truely a wi-fi issue. It's more than likely an issue with your router.
I say this because I used to use linksys and my wi-fi worked fine. There was the occasional disconnection, but it worked like a charm. Hmm. As to what the problem might be...I'm not to sure, but the router should be the issue. Check the router out and use the nintendo website to figure out exactly what the error means. I'm too lazy at the moment.
alright well thanks for the help so far also read my above edit
edit if anyone reads this do you have a sec so i can see if it works now i switched to wep and set my ds up maually now just would like to test it ingame cuz nintendos test seem to fail me oftenby fail I mean let down it said i connected succesfully
