Global Trade Station

i bought a ps3 (which i later returned), the 80 gig, which came with Metal Gear Solid 4, XD it was pretty fun, and i was able to play it the first day, but the next day, when i would play a game, it would freeze during the start up menu

i only bought Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and MGS4,

after it would freeze, i tried both games, and it seems that which ever game, it would still freeze, and it wouldn't freeze in the ps3's menu. only when i had a game inserted would my system screw over =/

i also tried reformatting everything, but with no luck...

when i returend it to the store (best buy) the day after it was screwing up, they tried seeing what was wrong with it, and it WORKED

so... is this normal? and if it's not, would it be the ps3's fault?

i'm buying another one, but if i buy another 80 gig, will the same problems persist?

it was an update problem

you sure it's an update? it came with 2.36

did u download 2.40?

or, it could be your tv. Is it HD?

he may have got it.... downloaded 2.40 the first day...(day he got it) it started freezing and he took back before 2.41

gah... i thought i explained this..

i had version 2.36, the LATEST at the time, because from what i heard, ps3 pulled back on version 2.4, so i couldn't download it


when i returned it to best buy, it did work

i only played it for about... 3 hours, cuz of installation and crap..


and then it was on standby (power switch on, red light) the whole night...


and YES it was on an HDTV, via HDMI cable.... on a Sony Bravia...

okay, so it's prolly the ps3...

does this mean, if i get a new one, it will be highly likely that i won't have this problem again?
