This Update keeps making my PS3 freeze what about u guys?

Nope, there was a technical difficulty with the system, when did you update your PS3?

I got the update too, it only makes my online play lag a bit more

Sony, did state that the update caused problems to some systems. Hopefully they fix it in the next update 2.41 which is rumored to release sometime this week!

EDIT: I stand corrected the new update (2.41) is available now to download of the Playstation Store

i got 2.40 within its release hour and just got 2.41

yup it froze my ps3 all the time but mostly online while trying to find matches.....
but i got 2.41 today and it fixed it ... so far

COD4 online is still messed up and my PS3 froze up 2 times today
