Hi, I was wondering what action replay is about. I know it evolves cheating which I think takes away from the game. That's a different matter though. One of my main worries on here is that someone will try and trade me some cloned pokemon instead of the real deal. Can someone explain the pro's and con's to this?
Well, most people on the GTS are very nice and trustworthy, but of course there might be someone who decides to mess with you, so.....
Cloned Pokemon are not neccesarily hacked, but in a way are glitched. Just think of it as the Pokemon Distrubition things, if you don't know what that is it is a thing to where you put the IP address for the distrubition in your wifi settings for the Auto-Obtain DNS or something, then you go to the GTS. Once you are there, go in the room, and you will receive that Pokemon. If this is not explained that well, here is some more info.
Legit cloned pokemon, are still legit, Hacked cloned Pokemon, are hacked. But some people think cloning with the AR and GTS are different. The AR is hacking, and the GTS is legit, or a glitch.
Hope this helped, if not I hope you get your answer soon enough!

If I understand correctly, a cloned Pokemon is an exact replicate of the original, sothat shouldn't matter. That, and Action Replay and cloning aren't the same.
Yes, a clone is an exact duplicate of the original. Regardless of how it is done, most people don't see clones as hacks, and there is no danger with them. Cloned Pokemon are also not considered hacks.
You can make hacked Pokemon with an AR though, but any Pokemon modified by an AR should be listed as a hacked Pokemon if it is from a reputable trader.
